I run a small website for a local guitar society and I tend to get some spam here and there. The worst is that I run it on wordpress and had plans to do a social system of sorts. Unfortunately the only people creating accounts were spammers. I guess even the captcha codes like you implemented are used in vein and frustrate only those of us with honorable agendas :/

Leaving linux myself. I can't even find a decent PIM with recurring tasks. Endless problems with drivers. That was a big Linus deal about putting drivers in the kernal. In my opinion, kills desktop forever. I have no idea what I will switch to, we have no other os's at all. Ubuntu mainly and Mint for driver sanity. None of it is worth anything on a desktop. Great for servers and dedicated tasks, no good for getting things done. Probably will try a Mac, cannot stand MS.

I've been using foursquare just as a bragging tool, which is pretty much how I see it. Local advertising is low hanging fruit for companies like FS and Gowalla, so I can see them offering coupons for stores within 100 feet of your check-in location. To refer back to your last post, you are giving up some of that privacy for bragging and local Ads :) I don't check-in at my workplace and I don't check-in at my house. Although proving that you are the mayor of your house would be a fun trump card during a fight with the wife :)

So ironic to lose heart just when Linux, ubuntu, and Ubuntu are truly growing up, learning new grace, adaptability, and reliability- all without becoming fat, dictatorial, pompous and proprietary like McWindows. Welcome Back (when you're ready)!
